If you clear the "Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving" option
(in Word Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Privacy Options), you can then make use of the Show Markup list (on the Review tab) to decide what should and shouldn't display in your document. Note that the "Make hidden markup..." option is for your machine/your installation only; it doesn't control what others see when they open the document or their computers. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Jugglertwo" wrote: I have question related to have the tracking changes not appear when a Word 2007 document is opened. I have followed the suggestions that say one can go the the Security options and remove the check on the checkbox about Not Showing markup changes. With this unchecked, when I open a file with tracking the tracking still appears. I want the tracking to not show up but can't figure out how this is supposed to actually work. I am following the procedures as I understand them but the tracked changes still appear when I open the file. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! thanks! |
