Default Show Markup options for Word

I need to make it easier for editors to understand what changes have occurred
in a document. I'd like sometimes to not show the deletions. That
confuses the syntax and consumes a lot of time to have to also read what is
not in the article any more.

There should be an option to show *insertions only*. So the revisions can
be quickly and easily reviewed.

It would be good for me as a writer too, as I don't always care about what I
didn't want to say, but just where I've changed things and need to recheck.

This can already be done using the track changes option pane.

Assuming Word 2007. On the "Review" tab, in the "Tracking" group, click the
arrow on the "Track Changes" button (lower half). From the menu, click
"Change Tracking Options...". Here you can set "Deletions" to "Hidden" so
they won't show up anymore in your text.

But note that this applies only to your own computer, not the editor's. Your
document viewed on the editor's computer will reflect his/her Track Changes
settings.
