Select the text, including the symbol ("US$"), save it as autotext using a
one-key name you will remember (maybe "d"). Then when you want to insert US$, type "d" then press F3 and Word will substitute the autotext for the name. This works better than autocorrect because you choose when to make the correction. I use it to insert § (autotext named "s") and ¶ (autotext named "p) on a regular basis. In the late 1990's, I seem to recall assigning Function keys to the symbol "US$" which I used a lot at the time. |
