Yes, there is a manual method. It's the same as the one in the
KB940971 article under "Let me fix it myself" except that instead of
the 12.0 in the registry key name, you need to use 11.0 for Office
2003.

Before you do that, you may want to save the settings in Word that
would otherwise be lost when the key is deleted, so you can reapply
them later. See the section "How to preserve your Settings
preferences" in
