That was my first thought as well, but the obstacle of there being no way to
close the document without a prompt to save remains. Since the default
answer for the save prompt is Yes, pressing Enter would result in saving a
previously saved document (a disastrous choice in this case), but it would
open the Save As dialog for a new one.

I really can't have this happen when I'm writing thesis notes or
chapters so I need to get it fixed ASAP. Thank you!

I thought about the ctrl=A too because my command for my arrow is ctrl+alt+a but I don't think I type THAT fast that I could press ctrl+a, delete, and then some sort of close command. Unfortunately, I am usually looking up in class or at a book when I'm trying and this happens, so I really have no idea what I was typing when I've had it happen. . .
