How can I get rid of a line that won't delete in WORD?

Assuming that you mean a line like as in a border, you can either backspace
over it, or select Borders and Shading from the Format menu when the selection is in the paragraph (probably) before the line, (but maybe in the one after it). -- Hope this helps.
