Get a .pdf creating program and use that. Some are free, others aren't.

Thanks JoAnn. What about, for example, .png files or Windows metafiles.
Should Word not be able to produce these itself? Stuart "JoAnn Paules [MVP]" wrote: Get a .pdf creating program and use that. Word is a "word processing" program. All but one of the files you've listed
are "graphics" files. I have to ask why you would be using a word processor to create a graphics file. If it's all you have and you prefer not to get a proper graphics program, then you need to resort to third-party software. I know it sounds rough but I am a big advocate of using the right tool for the job. :-) -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Stuart" wrote in message ... Thanks JoAnn. To add to what JoAnn has said, I would be very surprised if you ever had a
version of Word that was able to SAVE to any of these formats or even open them; those are the formats you would see listed when you use Insert | Picture | From File. If you don't want to get Acrobat or a clone to create a PDF, you might want to investigate SnagIt, a screen capture program that includes a printer driver that allows you to print to a file in any of a number of graphics formats. At $39.95 for a single-user license, SnagIt is a very inexpensive program (especially given its capabilities), and there is a free trial download available; see www.techsmith.com. -- Suzanne S. My husband just downloaded the trial to use at work and he loves it! He
