Default Read attatchment Didnt "save as" just save... and is it lost?

Read an attached doc file that was my homework. Then I start working on it...
forgot to "save as" just "saved" and now when I wanted to look at it again
after finished it. Then there is no file with that name. Is my complite
homework gone? Thanks for a quick respons. Or I have to spend the rest of the
night writing

Try this - Click "OPEN" from a blank word document. On your left double
click the "My recent Documents" icon. Look for any document with the date
you did it. It might have saved as "doc1" or some other default name. "My
recent documents" will show you where it is if it is there at all. If you
see one that might be it, just click and it will open. Then do a proper File
Safe As to a folder of choice.

This is one, of many, reasons for never opening an attachment directly from
an email. When you opened it, it was opened as a temporary file rather than
as something you wanted to keep. It was saved as a temporary file. The hint
to check recent files is a good one, though. It is possible the temporary
file hasn't been purged yet.
