How do I get hyphen to expand in text IE -- to a single line
This is what I get when I type in a hyphen in text: -- It doesn't expand to
a single dash like my old Office XP. Is there a setting for this? It doesn't work automatically by hitting space bar, double hyphen, then space bar again as it did in XP. This may seem very fundamental, but I am driven to distraction trying to fathom it out. Please help! |

The setting for this is "Hyphens (--) with dash (-)" on the AutoFormat As
You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options. The combinations are as follows: spacehyphenspace = spaceen dashspace spacehyphenhyphenspace = spaceen dashspace characterhyphenhyphencharacter = characterem dashcharacter None of these fire until you have completed typing the word following the hyphen(s). -- Suzanne S.
