Default Convert Word 2007 (Vista) docs to Word 2000 (XP)

Is there a download/update available which will enable Word 2000 to read
documents created in Word 2007?

I'm not sure if the compatibility pack works with Word 2000 or not. I know
that 2003 works and suspect 2002 does also.

Yes, the Compatibility Pack is at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...3-C6BB74CD1466.
It will work with any version from Word 2000 through 2003.

Thanks Jay. I downloaded the compatability pack as you suggested, did a test
run by sending a document created in Word 2007 (on my laptop) to my PC on
which I run Word 2000 and, voila!, success!

Thank you Jay. I just wasn't sure about 2000. I suspected it but didn't want
to give false info.

Excellent.

For anyone else looking at this thread, note that you must update Office
2000 to Service Pack 3 before installing the Compatibility Pack. That's
stated in the System Requirements section of the download page, but a lot of
people don't bother to read that far before downloading the pack.
