Stop "searching" for a previous selection when using the page down keys.
I now have to select "Page" in the browser button below the vertical ruler
to stop WORD from continuously looking for a past search item.

That behavior is by design--and very useful at times.

Suzanne, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. To
comment: It may be by design (or default), and yes it does come in handy
times. However, I feel that this options should be selectable like other
options are, so I don't have to keep directing the page down button to "Page
DOWN" and NOT search for something I was looking for an hour ago.

Thanks.
Clint

It may help to note that when the Browse Objects feature is set to something
other than Page the color of the buttons changes... Just click the little
circular button to reset the feature.

To add to what Bob has said, the buttons aren't really PageDown and PageUp
buttons; they're Browse Next and Browse Previous buttons, whose function
depends on the browse object selected. By default this is page, but it
becomes Find/GoTo when you use the Find or Replace dialog. There are many
other useful settings as well; if you haven't used them for skipping from
one section or heading or table to the next, then you might not appreciate
this.

Being able to Find Next with the Find dialog closed can also be extremely
helpful when you want to perform repeated actions on the found text (such as
unlinking hyperlinks), since alternating Find Next and F4 (Repeat) will do
this.
