Default How do I modify Footnote Reference style & preserve superscript

I want my footnote reference numbers to be bold-faced and colored so I can
find them readily, and still be superscripts. Following the Modify Styles
instruction in Word 2003 Help, I could get them bold-faced and colored -- but
superscript is not an available option there.

I know it can be done, because I once managed it--but Word decided to change
my Normal.Dot file, making the Footnote References oversize bold black type
unsuperscripted.

Actually, Abel, the link you suggest is totally unrelated to the poster's
problem.

Right. The Win2002/2003 Modify Style dialogs give easy access to the most
commonly used formatting. For more advanced formatting of all types, you
need to click on Format (the dropdown menu in the Modify Style dialog), and
then select Font, so you can apply superscript.

I'm sorry about it.
I thought you wanted to convert footnote to normal text and then it
would be easier to colorize it. misreading...
I dont know then.

The same Font dialog where you apply the bold and color options also allows
you to check "Superscript."
