Envelope address transfers from letter as all Caps
Is it possible to have the address transfer from a letter to an envelope in
all capital letters even though it was not all capital letters in the letter itself? The address is regular text in the letter and then when you go to add an envelope, the text is in all caps. |

If the Envelope Address style were defined as All Caps, this would happen
automatically. Alternatively, you can select the text in the Envelope dialog window, right-click, choose Font, and select All Caps (or use the Ctrl+Shift+A keyboard shortcut). -- Suzanne S. As Suzanne indicates, it is possible, but is it a good idea? Upper case text
is harder to read. Why not use an easy to read solution such as 14 point Times New Roman? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Krystal wrote: Is it possible to have the address transfer from a letter to an envelope in all capital letters even though it was not all capital letters in the letter itself? It may be harder for us to read, but, for unfathomable reasons, the USPS
prefers addresses in all caps (and with standard abbreviations and no punctuation). If you enter a U.S. address at http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp and click Submit, the result is in all caps. sigh This is not required, of course, except for bulk mail (and I'm not sure it's an absolute requirement even for that. -- Suzanne S. Maybe they use rudimentary OCR to sort the mail?

Not so rudimentary, and yes, all mail is machine sorted unless it's a very
odd shape (and they're now charging considerably more for odd shapes). -- Suzanne S.
