is there away to have fields from the first record merged into the header and
footer of my label page? |

You will need to be careful that this does not screw up the layout of the
labels, but if you apply a style to the fields in the first label on the sheet, and add a \*charformat switch to those fields, then you can use a STYLEREF field to get the data from the first record on each sheet to appear in the header and footer. -- Hope this helps.
