When I try to highlight delete in Word I get a yes no question at the bottom
of the screen asking delete NO(YES) and I have to either hit the y or n key
to preform the function. How do I get out of that mode?

On the General tab of Tools | Options, clear the check boxes for both items
that refer to WordPerfect.

To prevent the Yes/No questions from popping up:
Select Tools Options General tab and turn off the two check boxes that
refer to WordPerfect.
