I have activated the trial version of Word 2007, imported a document, edited
the document and saved it. I can access the document but it and everything in Word is locked. How do I unlock the selection. This question appears in the community section, but the link it refers to is no longer active. Help!!! |

If this only happens in one particular document, then open the document
and click on Review tab | Protect Document | Stop Protection. If all new and existing documents are locked for editing, then maybe you didn't really activate your trial version of Office 2007, or maybe your trial version of Office 2007 has expired. What happens if you start Word 2007 and click on Office Button | Word Options | Resources | Activate? If you are already activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, a dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key or convert (purchase a key) online.
