Is there a Collect Words function in Word 2003's AutoComplete like there is
in Open Office 2.2? It automatically suggests completions for words used often in the particular document. The list of often-used-words could then be saved for future documents. Thanks for the help! Janet |

Word has two different functions, AutoCorrect
(http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...utoCorrect.htm) and AutoText (http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom.../AutoText.htm). What you're thinking of is more like AutoCorrect. In Word's jargon, AutoComplete isn't a separate function; it's the little yellow tag that pops up when you type something that Word recognizes as the beginning of the name of an AutoText entry. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. The AutoCorrect Dialogue window has a tab called AutoText. It has a box which
can be checked (or not) for Show AutoComplete Suggestions. My question was about a 'sub-function' (automatic word collection) that would fall under this AutoComplete function. |

Word has AutoComplete in Word 2003, but it does not have the power to
somehow intuitively add words to your AutoText library. You have to do this manually. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Janetb" wrote in message ...
