Current Config:
- Running Windows 2k and Office 2k3 - Both are updated with all possible updates - Mail merge recipient list has 552 items with 9 fields: LastName, FirstName, Company, Address1, City, State, PostalCode, WorkPhone, JobTitle. - Data source is in .doc format Issue: My issue pertains after the document is open, the data source is already availible to search into. Using the "Mail Merge Recipients" button to bring up the full list we search for one contact(doesn't matter what type of search) and it succesfully finds that contact. Upon finding we select that contact and search for another, the find searches the database and says "Word has reached the end of the database. Do you want to continue searching at the beginning", Of course - YES! Then it looks again through the list and says "Word has finished searching the database. The search item was not found". Which in fact I can search the list and find that item! This proves tedious for my employees as they have to search for additional entries manually since the find function doesn't operate properly. What I've done to try to solve the issue: 1 Updated both computer and office to the extent it would allow me too. 2 Tried on 2 different computers, one running XP and the other running 2k. 3 Seperated the data source with the document(originally the document "calls" the data source automatically). With the same result in the find feature failure. Any ideas would help, right now I'm going to try to rebuild the data source and form letter to see if that is the problem. |
