I want to create a running family tree that allows for different branches of
the family to be printed on other pages. There should be a way to do it

Possibly the Org chart Tool -- in PowerPoint or Word...

my advice... if you are really serious about geneology -- invest in
appropriate software such as Family TreeMaker... My hubby has ours set up --
and once you get going -- can import data you find out there on the web --
is really easy to use.

It is probably better to use a specialist genealogy program.
