Word 2007 Page numbering

I cannot get page numbering to work in this version. Am I bugged or is this
disabled in this beta version.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Jamie,

How are you doing page numbers?

I have no problem using page numbering. I clicked on the Insert Tab and
chose Page Number on the ribbon. I selected the style I wanted and that was
it.

Thanks for your reply,

I select insert, it then gives me page numbering option, I click that then I
get the header/footer option which only allows the sane text or number to
apear on every page. Ive used Word for years and always found it simple to
insert page numbering but Im sure Im missing something here. Ive tried
downloading the updates but that just destroyn outlook from working at all.
At this moment though I just want to get page numbering working.
Any ideas?

If that was meant to be "insane text" rather than "sane text", I would be
inclined to agree with you, but once you delete all the "eye-candy" that you
do not want from the Header or Footer, you can set it up the same way as you
have always done. To get access to the fields dialog, click on the Quick
Parts item on the Insert tab.

Hope this helps.

Doug, you don't have to choose one of the eye-candy page numbers. There are
plain numbering too without having to use the fields dialog. Plain numer 1,
2 or 3 for example.
