I make sets of labels every so often at work, with information from a data
source that changes each time I make the sets. What I'd like to do is make 5 sets of labels using mail merge. There are 8 records in the data source. The label sheet is 4 columns, 20 rows. An example result of one label page would be: 1stRecord 2ndRecord 3rdRecord 4thRecord 5thRecord 6thRecord 7thRecord 8thRecord 1stRecord 2ndRecord 3rdRecord 4thRecord 5thRecord 6thRecord 7thRecord 8thRecord 1stRecord 2ndRecord 3rdRecord 4thRecord 5thRecord 6thRecord 7thRecord 8thRecord 1stRecord 2ndRecord 3rdRecord 4thRecord 5thRecord 6thRecord 7thRecord 8thRecord 1stRecord 2ndRecord 3rdRecord 4thRecord 5thRecord 6thRecord 7thRecord 8thRecord Using the label feature works fine, except I only get 1 set on a page of labels. I see that the Next Record field is used. Is there a field to bring it back to the 1st record? |

To get that layout, you are going to need to create a datasource that
contains five sets of the data. That could be done fairly easily, but admitedly with a bit of manual work by first creating a Catalog or Directory type mailmerge in which you have the mergefields in the cells of a one row table. Execute that merge and then copy and paste all of the rows four times so that there are five sets of the data, then insert a row at the top of the table and enter the mergefield names into its cells. Then save and close that document and use it as the datasource for your label mailmerge. Or, it maybe easier to execute the label merge to a new document, then copy and paste the labels to fill up the page. -- Please respond to the Newsgroup for the benefit of others who may be interested.
