I read prior posts and know to use the avery label for them, but I'm having
trouble inserting a return address on the label. It doesn't seem to show the option? Any help on how to insert the return address would be appreciated. ![]() |

Simply type the return address into the label.
You can create a new document from the label wizard if you find this easier to edit and you can save the return address as an autotext entry for ease of re-use. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org FreezingInFargo wrote: I read prior posts and know to use the avery label for them, but I'm having trouble inserting a return address on the label. To clarify, I open a new Word document, then start "mail merge wizard",
pick label, 3263 postcard, arrange recipients, 300-400 of them, insert address block, and merge. T The formatting won't allow me to type in the return address. That's where I come short, it also won't let me insert a Postal Bar Code anywhere but the far left, instead of over the address block. That I think I can conquer though. Graham, I appreciate your reply, but it doesn't seem quite so simple for me. What am I doing wrong? "Graham Mayor" wrote: Simply type the return address into the label. It does help if you supply all the relevant information - such as this is a
merge! ![]() See http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm Don't use the address block field. It rarely works as you would expect. Insert the individual address fields where you require them. Type the return address in the first label, then propagate the labels. The bar code field is simply another field. You can insert it wherever you want. It may be worth pointing out that I understand the bar codes are not compatible with the requirements of the US postal services. Essentially you format the layout of the first 'label' then when you are happy with that layout propogate to the rest. You may find it useful to insert the fixed text (the return address) in a borderless text box with the wrap set to 'Square' before propagating. If you are not entirely happy withy the results, edit only the first cell then repropagate. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org FreezingInFargo wrote: To clarify, I open a new Word document, then start "mail merge wizard", pick label, 3263 postcard, arrange recipients, 300-400 of them, insert address block, and merge.
