We all run similar macros and across a Microsoft network. On some machines
when within word2003 you go to File, Open and point to a specific "M:" network drive, it takes for ever to view the files on the drive and on other systems you have instant access of the same drive letter. However if you view a similar drive e.g. G:\ which is exactly the same as M: it happens quickly. Our IT people tell me it is the new macros but even if you disable the macros, it still the same. Is there a limitation on the number of folders that one can create on one drive or not or perhaps any other ideas? |

That's the sort of excuse IT people always use when they haven't got a
f***ing clue what's going on. You've got a network problem. "Joey" wrote in message ... We all run similar macros and across a Microsoft network. The computer was actually trying to connect to one or more mapped network
share which was nonexistent and therefore it was doing a query to the unavailable drive before connecting to the correct one. Thanx, problem solved.
