Default i can not see my usb drive or my documents when i click open file

the driver is listed as working properly, but i do not see it when i attempt
to open files. because i do not see it, i am unable to open any files that
are on it.

You should not work directly with removable media because of the likelihood
of document corruption. Always copy to and from the hard drive.

Actually, that's a good thing. You should never open any document
directly from any removable media. Use Windows Explorer to copy the
file from the USB drive to the hard drive, work on it there, and copy
it back to the USB drive when done. Anything else risks corrupting the
document.

Don't attempt to open files from a USB drvie or any other type of removable
media - it's a sure road to disaster. Copy/move the files to your hard drive
using an Explorer window & work with them from there.

Likewise, save to the HD, then copy/move to the removable if necessary.
