i am trying to print a background on some papers and in the print Preview it
showes 4 pics (all the same ) that fill up the page however when i print them
it prints approx 100 tiny pics (All the same ) on the page i am wanting to
find out how i can have it only print 1 large or the 4 pics ( all the pics
are the same thing just in a repeting pattern ...) i am stumped on how to do
this .... thank you for any help ......Nathan

I've always had this problem, through several versions of Word, and never
found a fix. The workaround is to give up on the "background" feature.
Instead, put the cursor in the header pane, insert the pictures as floating
graphics with "behind text" wrapping, and size and position them as desired.
If necessary, use the controls on the Picture toolbar to fade them (reduce
the contrast and increase the brightness) so you can read the text. The
pictures will repeat on all pages because they're anchored in the header.
