I have clients using a mix of word processing applications . . .especially
WORD and WordPerfect. Recently, I upgraded to Office 2007 and found that WORD 2007 documents cannot be saved in WordPerfect format. My earlier Word (Word 2003) had an add-in that allowed this. As a "work around" one can save the WORD document in WORD 2.0 (which WordPerfect CAN read) but there is significant re-formatting work to do. Saving as WORD 6.0 is worse but, still, will allow a WordPerfect read. Does anyone else have a better solution? |

I don't know whether it works properly with Word 2007, but it's worth a try. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Jay,
Thank you for the try. I did download the file and will try it but, earlier today, I was talking to the Microsoft Help people and they brought up the Add-in you referenced . . . saying, specifically, that it doesn't work. In their good time, the MS people will probably build this capability into Service Pack # ? to Office 2007. Until then, (and unless I get help from others), I guess I will have to use the Word 2 workaround. Again, thank you! Microsoft is constantly working on security issues and vulnerabilities were
found with some of the older filters. In Word 2003 it was possible to restore the filters and they would work - and to some extent that remains true, inasmuch as you could still use the old WP filters to open WP documents, though it is no longer possible to save. The older filters will still work (at your own risk) and can be downloaded from my web site, but security updates will undoubtedly change them in the future. The filters may not be able to export any graphics in your document. WP should be able to open Word 97-2003 format documents? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Walt wrote: I have clients using a mix of word processing applications . . .especially WORD and WordPerfect.
