I do a lot of editing in Word and want to improve my efficiency.
What's the best way of moving to the place you want to edit, short of using the search function? As a former WordPerfect (DOS) user, I'm used to going straight to the place I want to edit by using Control Arrows. If the place is closer to the right margin, I use Control Up and Down arrows to locate the paragraph, then use Control Left arrows from the right-end to zero in on the location. In Word, I'm hampered by the cursor stopping at every damn punctuation marks (parentheses, commas, periods, colons, semicolons, hyphens) and even characters (ampersands, @ signs, etc.). Is there any way to bypass these so that I can move faster? In User Settings or Preferences? I know it sounds wonky, but every second counts at work and the network is as slow as molasses. Why should this even qualify as a default function in Word? |
