Default Copied Headings restart numbering

I recently switched from office 2003 to office 2007 and am working on a word
document. In word 2003 when I copied a heading style, it would assign the
numbering based on where it was located in my document. In Word 2007, it
restarts numbering. Does anyone know how to make it like 2003? I can get it
to work by doing a format painter on it, but it is one more annoying step to
take.

Thanks.

Try using an assigned shortcut sequence, eg Heading 1 ALT 1 and so on.

The other thing you can do is change the "default" which restarts
numbering - modify and uncheck this option then it will never restart unless
you tell it to manually.

I have Word 2007, but I can't figure out where the actual version number is
in this new one. (I know you used to be able to go to about... and find the
version number, but I don't know where that is anymore.)
