Somehow the name labels for all the icons on my desktop have gone white with
a shadow (they used to be plain black small print) - they're very hard to read. When I go into the custom setup I can't find a selection that changes them. I've tried all the selections that seemed appropriate, though some have the color option greyed out. What am I missing ? |

Go to Control Panel System Advanced and click the Settings button
in the Performance section. Uncheck the option "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop". By the way, this newsgroup is for questions about MS Word, not about the desktop or other operating system subjects. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
