Two questions:
The only way that I can move a photo that I inserted is to push the space bar to move right, backspace to move left, etc. I want to click and drag to move it wherever. Please help. Secondly, on the same subject, on a photo I just cut and pasted from another document, I don't get the Word 2007 option of the different border styles (oval, fuzzy edge, picture frame, thick black border, etc.). Where'd those options go? OK, one more. I notice that sometimes when I select a picture, the boxes on the corners that show that the picture is selected are different than when I select others, which have the short line at the top-middle border attached to a small circly, for rotating I believe. Can someone explain the difference? Thanks in advance for the help. |

I believe that the different boxes when the picture is selected (#3) is
telling you whether the picture is floating or in-line with text. Only floating graphics can be dragged around--inline ones act like text (#1). Not sure about your #2, but possibly those features are not available because the picture is inline with text. Bring up Format Picture and change the Layout or Wrapping setting. Anything except In-line with Text is a floating graphic. I think you can set a default setting for pasted pictures in Word 2007, but not sure where. #2 occurs if the document is in compatibility mode. The option for oval,
fuzzy edge, picture frame, thick black border, etc. use Office 2007 new graphics options and aren't supported in a Word 97-2003 document. There are other differences, too, and I can't tell from your description whether #3 is a compatibility mode situation, too, or not. For #1, click the Picture Tools - Format tab. From there, you can set Text Wrapping (in the Arrange section) to something other than In line with text, which will enable you to drag. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Daiya Mitchell" wrote in message ...
