Default word 2007 tables has dark lines and I cannot see what I am typing

When I insert a table into Word the line I am working on is shown in a dark
colour so I cannot see the data entered. Is anyone else having this problem.
I can click the top box that shows properties and then the data is shown
until I go to add new information.

I cannot work with tables this way in word. Please help if you can. Thank
You!
