Using a registered version of Word 2002 and running XP. Use Internet-based
e-mail as primary without using Outlook. Can't open Word docs when downloading attachments -- only options are to "save," "find," (which takes me to Microsoft download page) or "cancel." I can open them no problem if I save first. Why don't I have the "open" option you normally see at this point? Dialogue box tells me it's an unknown file type even though it has a ".doc" extension. When frequently receiving docs for review, always having to save first can be a pain. Does not happen with Excel or Power Point. |
