In Word 2007, response time slows to crawl after I have selected either the
Review or Developer tabs. I have removed all addins and behavior is the same. I have no Startup folder. What I refer to by response time is that typing is not reflected on the page for many seconds or when I select some option from the Ribbon (or switch to another tab,) it is a while before anything happens. Even when clicking initially on the Developer tab, it takes a long time for its options to display. It doesn't appear that there is high CPU or memory usage on the machine when this is happening (as reported in Task Manager.) I do not have to have an open document for this to happen. A couple of my colleagues have also experienced this problem, but many others who are using Word 2007 do not have this. I do not have this problem with Excel 2007. Any ideas about why this happens? Or what I can do? Thanks. |
