When I open a new word document it has the appearance of graph paper and I
can't get just a blank page. How do I fix this? Also when I open an existing document that has been sent to me it shows single spaced lines like notebook paper. |

If this is Word 2007, clear the check box for "Gridlines" on the View tab
(Show/Hide group). Note that this is not the correct toggle for table gridlines; that one is on the contextual Table Tools | Layout tab. In Word 2003 or earlier, display the Drawing toolbar and use Draw | Grid. Clear the check box for "Show gridlines on screen." -- Suzanne S. This topic illustrates a problem I am having with getting easy HELP for Word
'07. If I know to search for "hide gridlines" the topic and answer comes immediately, BUT, if I don't know the lingo and search for "remove graph lines" I get nothing helpful at all and don't know how to refine my search. Any clues for using Word Online Search Help?? "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: If this is Word 2007, clear the check box for "Gridlines" on the View tab (Show/Hide group). This has pretty much been a problem in all versions of Word. In such cases,
I find that using Google (or some other search engine) to search is more effective. Almost certainly, some other user will have posted a question using language similar to yours and received the answer I gave you (more or less). Google will find these postings. -- Suzanne S.
