I don't think anyone knows how these settings get changed (the WordPerfect
ones are the *most* puzzling). An update is a good candidate for suspicion, but so are add-ins, which, on loading, often, as it were, "play back" the settings that were (inadvertently) recorded by the developer; naturally, the settings on the developer's machine may not be the same as yours. -- Suzanne S.
