If all the users are on the same network, asking them to change the macro
security level (or having the administrator do so) wouldn't be that difficult. Using digitally signed documents would perhaps be the safest solution (but I don't remember if that was even a possibility in Word 2000). No matter which approach is taken, it would require manual "intervention." If it didn't, macro security wouldn't be very secure, of course. :-) See also the following article: Effectively Using ActiveX Form Controls in Microsoft Word http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ffice.10).aspx -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "QAJason21" wrote in message ... I like the appearance of the text boxes. I saved the form on a shared drive so anyone can access it. What do I have to do to it so everyone is prompted to enable macros and navigate through the text boxes as I can and as I intended? "Stefan Blom" wrote: It seems as if you have been using ActiveX controls (from the Control Toolbox toolbar)? Note that it isn't sufficient to change the macro security for your Word installation; it must be done for everyone using the form. Therefore, it is usually easier to make use of text form fields (from the Forms toolbar) instead. With that type of forms, macro security won't be an issue. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "QAJason21" wrote in message ... I created a document in Word 2000. Saved as I wanted it to be saved and decreased the security level to Medium to allow to enable macros. The document contains "text boxes" for customers to fill in info. I lock it and protect it. When I send to myself it acts as I intended and I can tab to all check boxes and text boxes and fill in as I want. But when I send it to others in my office they open it and it is in design mode and cannot fill in the text boxes or check the check boxes. You click on one of the text boxes and it frames it as if you were in design mode. I want to be able to send this form out to customers to have them fill in the info and send back. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? Please help. |
