I find that I sometimes mess up the page order and end up with (for example) 20 sets of pages 3 & 4 and 5 & 6 - but only 10 sets of 1 & 2 and 7 & 8. In other words, I've got 10 sets too many of pages 3 & 4 and 5 & 6.
Word won't reliably print only selected pages from a booklet. Rather than throw away all the pages you have too many of, here's a work-around that allows you to produce extra copies of the pages you are short of. - Set up your booklet - Print to a pdf (I use PDF Redirect but there are many alternatives) - Now print from the pdf the specific pairs of pages you want, turning them over as necessary It's not elegant, but it works. EDIT: I'm now convinced this is the best way to print booklets. Word is just too unreliable. Printing from a pdf has its drawbacks (memory hungry and slow!) but it DOES give you total control: you can print what you need and ONLY what you need. Try it. I'm a convert.
