Whenever I capture an address from our letterhead using the envelope icon
despite being formatted in single space it comes out double. I've tried to be sure my document is clean and has no hidden formatting errors. I've also blocked and copied it and dropped it into the envelope window with the same result. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? |

If the address lines end in paragraph breaks rather than line breaks, the
most likely cause is that the Envelope Address paragraph style has some Space Before/After. -- Suzanne S. I've checked all the formatting and there is no spacing set before or after
any of the lines. They set their letterhead up in a text box in the header, could that cause formatting problems? "Suzanne S. Who is "they" and what does the letterhead have to do with capturing an
address for an envelope. I think you're going to have to draw me a picture here. -- Suzanne S. Text boxes are best avoided.
Assuming Word 2003 or earlier - the envelope tool will pickup any manual formatting of the address it collects. Format the address in the document with the normal or inside address style (which you can edit to suit your requirements) and the address picked up from the document should then be formatted with the Envelope Address paragraph style - see http://www.gmayor.com/changing_envelope_layout.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Jannr wrote: I've checked all the formatting and there is no spacing set before or after any of the lines.
