I came up the the answer to my own question. I used this Save My Settings
wizard, then I inserted a dummy word (an obvious misspelling into the custom.dic file), then saved that file. (in the Application Data/Microsoft/Proof folder. To make sure, I typed in that word in a new Word document, and there was no red squiggly line. I then used the Save My Settings wizard to restore the profile info that I had just saved, and then in a new doc, the dummy word was indicated as a misspelling, which must mean that the .ops file over-wrote the custom.dic file with a previously saved version. -- Paul MS Office Pro 2003 XP Home Dell Inspiron 1501 "Paul" wrote: I would like to back up my custom.dic file. I already utilize the Save My Settings Wizard--does this back up the dictionary automatically? Or is this something I will have to do manually? Also, I use a macro from a Word MVP site that backs up the acl entries. I assume that these acl entries are separate from the custom.dic file? -- Paul MS Office Pro 2003 XP Home Dell Inspiron 1501 |
